The comic book shown is

Venom: Separation Anxiety #3, published by Marvel Comicsin 2024. The comic is part of a limited series written by David Michelinie, who co-created the character Venom, with art by Gerardo Sandoval.

The story takes place in Venom's early days and centers on Eddie Brock's bond with the Venom symbiote. The plot revolves around the escape of the villain Purple Man (Zebediah Killgrave). When the Purple Man and Venom touch, the villain becomes stronger while Venom becomes weaker, and the Purple Man is able to take pieces of Venom's symbiote. This causes Venom's bond with Eddie to be tested and their sanity to be threatened. Eddie must race to stop the Purple Man from using a "psycho-prism" and unleashing untold horrors on the world, all while an army of super-powered foes, including the Kingpin, stand in his way. The story explores themes of freedom vs. control, autonomy vs. dependency, and Eddie's struggle to come to terms with his identity.

This comic book is a modern retelling, with the original Venom: Separation Anxiety being a four-issue series from 1994-1995 that followed a different plot. The original story saw Eddie Brock separated from his symbiote and hunted by the five Life Foundation symbiotes (Riot, Lasher, Scream, Agony, and Phage), who believed he was killing them.
